Rishi K – Shadow People

June 7, 2015 in Singles

Rishi K Shadow People BlackRoomFinally for tonight, we have this two-tracker from San Fran’s prolific Rishi K.

I’ve commented on here before how Rishi’s releases have got deeper and deeper over the past few years… here though he throws a complete curveball, with the original version of Shadow People a hi-octane slice of tech-house underpinned by positively rude bass and topped with Carpenter-esque synths, a nagging keyboard riff that’s almost Acen/4hero-ish and a strange spoken vocal that appears to be a British guy talking about a computer game (unless he actually has been encountering “demons… entitities which feed off negative energy”, of course). It’s different from Rishi’s recent work  but the quality’s still there for sure, while Phasen supplies a dark n’ squelchy refix for techno floors.

Out: This week

About: This comes on BlackRoom Records, who I don’t think have featured on TIWWD before. This is their seventh release and you can find ’em on Soundcloud, on Facebook or at their own website.
