Mirco Caruso – Matador

July 11, 2014 in Singles

Mirco Caruso Matador Glory TouchFollowing on from the Ibiza sundown vibes of the UC Beatz release below, here’s another one that’s got ‘White Island’ written all over it…

Just the two rubs of Matador to choose from. In its original form, an intro of rolling beats and understated synth pulses leads into a beefy, looping b-line and rock-solid 4/4s, topped with spoken (M/F) vocal snips. Hand percussion then helps to build the energy levels until, at around the five-minute mark, in comes the fluttering flamenco guitars that presumably inspired the title. On the flip, Flavio Martini’s remix goes straight for the terrace jugular, beefing up the bottom end and utilising the guitar part from the get-go.

The latter edges it for me, but both mixes will have their place.
