Lee Pennington – Earthworm Dancing EP

Lee Pennington Earthworm Dancing EP Endemic DigitalWell now… I did have several interesting bits n’ bobs to tell you about tonight, but it’s been a long, busy day and by the time I sit down to write this I’ve nearly run out of Thursday! Just quickly then, here we have a neat little two-tracker from Endemic regular Lee Pennington.

The title track takes a minute or two to really get going, but at around the 1.30 mark in comes the subtle little acid (sorry, acieeeeeed!) squiggles that are its main attraction… even if there are a full two acid-free minutes at the end during which a looped “you make me feel like dancing” vocal, put through a vocoder or talkbox effect of some kind, comes to the fore instead.

Flip it over and you’ll find Creeping Behind The Shovel, presented here in Inkfish Remix form. It’s another nicely understated little cut that’ll play on deep and tech house floors equally well, with a nice dreamy, garage-y feel to the teensy-tiny female vocal snips, but it’s the A-side that stands out for me.

Out: This week

About: I always say this, but you know where to find Endemic by now…
