Jero Nougues – Blind Love EP

December 1, 2015 in Singles

Jero Nougues Blind Love EP Deep ClicksMoving into deeper house waters, here we have the latest from Argentinian wunderkind Jero Nougues.

In its Original form, Blind Love is a dreamy, trad-style deep houser with muted, rolling beats, atmospheric synth washes, and an overall melancholic feel that’s heightened by the filtered male vocal. The latter’s a bit ‘synthpop’ for these ears, truth be told, but no matter because Ready Mix boss BiG AL is on hand with a brace of more floor-friendly remixes centred around a chunky walking bassline – one of which is an instrumental. You also get two mixes of Winter Breeze. Nougues’ original is a garage-tinged late night drifter par excellence, while a refix from Soul Academy leads us back onto the dancefloor while adding some female vocal fragments.

I’m going for BiG AL’s instrumental of the title track and Jero’s original of Winter Breeze, personally. You may differ. That’s okay, we can still be friends.
