George Moraitis – No Fate/Digital Gangsta

April 5, 2014 in Singles

George Moraitis No Fate Vision CollectiveAnother two-tracker here as we move into seriously deep pastures with the latest from Cork’s ever-excellent Vision Collective.

No Fate is up first, an atmospheric, ever-so-slightly prog-tinged affair with spoken, sampled vocal fragments, tinkling melodic synths and echoing pads vying for your attention atop crisp-as-you-like beats. S’good, but the killer for me here is Digital Gangsta, an even deeper cut with snatches of some cock-er-nee geezer talking over its dubby bass and endlessly reverberating pads n’ stabs.

Favouring the ‘quality not quantity’ approach, Vision Collective don’t put out many records – and I don’t think they’ve ever put out a bad one. But even in their fine catalogue, Digital Gangsta really is something special: late-night deep house vibes straight outta the top drawer.
