Dilby Again & Again EP UM RecordsAnother label that can generally be relied upon to come up with the deep house goods are Richie Hartness’s UM Records, and they don’t disappoint here.

It’s all about fusion with this one, as Dilby gets busy on the cross-pollination tip. After All leans heavily on a dub reggae bassline, topping it with dreamy pads and a heavily treated, familiar-sounding “after all that we’ve been through” vocal. But fan as I always am of reggae/house blends (including this one), it’s actually Howling At The Moon that’s working best for me, in which Dilby tries his hand at a spot of St Germain-esque blues dabblin’, to remarkably good effect. Not 100% convinced by the big-room’d-up Supacooks Remix if I’m honest, but that’s okay cos the sparse, languid Original and slightly more drifty Carlo Remix are doing the job nicely, ta.
